We strive to provide excellent service at competitive prices with unmatched friendliness and hospitality.
Our basic mediation rates are:
$340 per mediation hour (4 hour minimum)
$275 per hour for preparation time
$200 per hour for travel
$450 admin fee for mediations in our offices
$400 admin fee for mediations elsewhere
Services
Administrative Support
We know what it is like to be out of the office. Whether it is document production or editing, a charger for a laptop or a phone, a notary public, or forgotten basic office supplies, Smith Mediation seeks to make parties comfortable and productive by providing whatever an attorney or party needs to make the day a success.
Mediation in Person
Few things are as effective at resolving a dispute as in person mediation. At Smith Mediation, we have the capacity to house six parties for in person mediations in our offices.
Mediation via Zoom
We recognize that in person mediation is not always available in today's high speed world. Therefore, we host virtual mediations for out of town parties, counsel, or insurance representatives. We are happy to host virtual meetings ourselves, or we provide password protected wi-fi for times a person attending in person needs to connect wtih someone remotely.
Pre-Mediation Preparation
Evidencing our belief that preparation is key to success, we pride ourselves on our work performed in advance of the mediation. Mediation statements are read several times in preparation for mediation. Questions are addressed pre-mediation via phone calls so mediation time is focused on resolutions rather than clearing confusion between the parties. No one likes it when a mediator 'mails it in'. Our pledge is to never appear for a mediation unprepared.
Travel
Smith Mediation covers all of Arkansas. Based in mid-town Little Rock, we are able to reach the four corners of the state in less than three hours. We offer a reduced hourly rate for our travel time.
Assessment after Mediation
Despite the best efforts of all involved, not all disputes get resolved via mediation. In those unfortunate instances when the mediation fails, we will follow up the parties providing our neutral assessment of the holes in each party's case with suggestions on ways to continue to bridge the gap and reach resolution. If requested, we are happy to prepare a Confidential Mediator's Proposal for the parties to consider.
